In home care can be a blessing, when elderly home health care is started in a home and done right. We all hear the horror stories of the individuals that took advantage of that aging senior while providing care for them. Many times, this occurred right under the noses of the family.
I frantically tried swimming some more, but I had nothing left, so I desperately attempted to touch bottom again. This time, I went a long way under, and when no bottom was to be found, I barely made it to the surface again. I took care of a quadriplegic at night in exchange for rooming and being paid to do my job by the state. I also worked as a teacher aide for the school system. At this time I had lost my apartment, and had some other unfortunate bills as well--so it took all this to help pay them down.
You should always provide a clean environment for that elderly person click here that is bed bound. This is going to mean changing diapers and bed clothes on a regular basis. If this seems too much for you to handle, then you should check about getting a nurse or other HHA jobs worker to make visits for this reason.
GET HELP: Parents, significant others, roommates, children or friends can be recruited to help you through this. You will need their help the first month HHA training jobs and a chauffeur for a couple of months longer. This isn't a license to be a slacker, but don't go all heroic and try to handle anything that is temporarily impossible.
What to Do: Call the hospice nurse or doctor right away. They may say that you can double the dose of meds or if you don't have anything, they can have something delivered. Gently stroke the arms and legs and talk softly, letting them know that it's going to be alright.
